Hello @gshu2000,

Thank you for joining our Community Forums, and posting this great question! We are happy you are looking to get a plan with data. Data makes life so much more convenient since you can use apps on the go!

At this time, any unused services of your plan are forfeited if you change to another rate plan during your plan's period. My recommendation is to finish this month’s refill and change your rate plan at the beginning of your next cycle.

I hope this helps, have a fantastic day!

@gshu2000 I'm pretty sure the above is wrong. Since you are on a per minute plan, any balance on your account should be available to be used on the monthly plan. Say for example you have a $40 account balance and select the $30 monthly plan.  Your $30 plan should start immediately and your balance should drop to $10.

@gshu2000

Im going to second @sandblaster answer.  The answer from support only applies to monthly rate plans $30, $45, $60.

Support is correct about any unused service, what they are wrong about is unused balance on the account. Even if the OP already had a monthly plan, any unused balance remains until it is either used or it expires.
