Is there a solution for this???!

Thanks

If a phone has been inactive for more than 60 days past the expiration date, the phone number is deactivated. It looks like that's what happened. So you will need to get a new SIM card and airtime at an AT&T store and have them reactivate the phone. You will be given a new number.

ilikewireless,

Thanks for your reply.  That's exactly what happened.  Unfortunately it was difficult finding this out because internet & phone  AT&T support require you to enter a valid phone number.  Without an active phone number, you can't reach anyone!

I finally called as if I was ordering new service and was able to reach a LIVE person.  This person gave me the same answer that you did.

I was told by them that I would need to go to an AT&T corporate store and they would issue me a new SIM card for free.  However, I went to the store as directed and was informed that it was $15 to issue a new SIM card.   I didn't have time to argue, but it just one more thing to add to my frustration.

I don't remember reading anywhere that the phone would lose it's number after 60 days.

Thanks again.

You're welcome.

Did you buy airtime with the SIM card?  Or did you just buy the SIM card? (Since you may already have bought airtime)

It tells you about deactivation after 60 days in the Plan Terms Section (Tab) of this link: http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/plans/prepaidplans.html about the middle of the second paragraph.

I'm living in Japan and returning to the States soon for a visit.  Can I reactivate my Go Phone on-line or by phone before I travel?  I would really like to have it activated and purchase minutes before I go.  That way, when I'm in the airport, I can call my family.  Thanks!

Yes you can order a SIMCARD on amazon.com --- some dealer send it also to japan.

You can activate it on the internet.

you can add money or order refill-pins on www.pinzoo.com
