Is a SSN required to get AT&T internet?

can I get AT&T internet plan without SSN? i am over 18 btw

We've had non-US residents (students or work visa) that did not have a SSN report that a ($449) deposit was required before they could get service.

You need to use the att supplied equipment and there is an equipment charge.
