Fixed Wireless Internet - availability in area
In my area we do not have any high speed internet options whatsoever, no cable, no DSL, nothing. I don't even have the option of a hard line telephone, so even dial up is out of the question! However, we do have several bars of cell service. I was recently talking with one of my coworkers, who lives up the road from me, and he just had AT&T fixed wireless installed 4 months ago at his address. So I came online to sign up, but the website says not available in my area, which doesn't make sense, considering other people in this area have already had it successfully installed. So just out of curiosity, my coworker and I plugged in his address to check availability, and it says not available at his address! Same for the houses on both sides of him. But he already has it installed there and using it! It just doesn't make sense how this is possible. So my question is, how do I go about / who do I contact to order since it seems it should actually be available.

Here's what I would do ... get it, but do the month to month offer. I believe it's $70/mo versus $60/mo if you lock in for a yearly contract. But big deal. I will spend the extra $10 knowing I don't have to be locked in for a whole year if the service doesn't work out.

Ok my neighbors have access to fixed wireless and it says it’s not available to me and I live right next door I’ve called multiple time and spoke to customer service with no help at all. I recently swapped from Verizon to AT&T on my cell phone and have speeds up to 100mps at my house. Can AT&T send me the equipment and let me see if it works my address. I’ve always had issues with my address not being correct on GPS.

Yeah, we sort of had this issue too. My neighbors, who live slightly further from the AT&T tower than we do, got the service over a year ago. We couldn't switch at the time they told us about it due to a service contract on a Verizon device not being up yet. Didn't want to deal with the ETF. Well, back in the Spring of 2020 during the start of the pandemic, I decided to look into this again, because when I put our address into the service search it gave me nothing, despite our neighbors already having it installed and praising it for over 6-8 months. Much like the original poster above. I asked a chat Agent and they told me then that you had to call a specific tech support number to get an appointment set up for a tech to install it. Fast forward to December, and I look again at the service search and plug in our address. Boom - returned Fixed Wireless this time. Well, eventually my father gets around to calling them, and gets transferred to multiple people that have no idea what they are talking about, and tell him the service isn't available DESPITE THEIR OWN DATABASE SAYING OTHERWISE. So here's what I did: I ordered it online through the AT&T website. Plug your address into the Internet service search tool, and if it spits back Fixed Wireless, just order it anyway. Our installer told us that a lot of the time the customer phone support has no idea what they are talking about. If nothing else, your installer will get there and not be able to get a signal and you'll likely get no bill or a refund, or something. He told us there's a 14 day return policy anyway. If it does not, then try talking to someone via the chat agent. When I did, mine (Sophia) told me this: (Unfortunately, the last 4 digits of the support line she gave me got X'ed out in the chat transcript that was emailed to me.) Good luck, if you haven't resolved it already.
