Congested tower slowdown

I recently signed up for ATT Unlimited More account which I was told would not experience slowdowns due to usage.  Now I am receiving messages that I have used 16GB and when I reach 22GB I will be slowed down to 128kb.  I talked to ATT and they said that once I tripped this congestion switch I would be slowed down until the end of the billing cycle, regardless of the tower I am attached to.  In addition, this is for all my 5 devices on this plan.  Wow.

I have upgraded too the Unlimited Most Plan because we plan to travel and won’t have access to cable.  If this is true, I am in for a big disappointment.

Does anybody know how this tower decongestion algorithm really works.  If I change to an uncongested tower do I get my bandwidth back?

Hello @Webbedlaker, we'd be happy to help! If you use more than 22gb in one billing period, then speeds may slow. You may not always experience slowed speeds as it depends on the area. However, it is possible for anyone on an unlimited plan to be slowed down after 22gb have been used. Check out this data usage support article for more information on slowed speeds. Thanks for reaching out to us.

My plan says if the tower is congested. Not merely exceeding 22GB. AT&T has gotten extremely greedy.
