When you enter http://192.168.1.254 what do you see? That should work if your wifi is connected to your gateway? When connecting your wifi did you use the ssid (name) and password shown on the label stuck to the side of your gateway. That should be all you need for internet access. Are you trying to get "in" to your gateway to change the ssid and/or password?
