Ever since I discontinued my land line and TV Uverse, keeping only my internet service, I have trouble connecting to my wifi in my home. Why am I now having a difficult time connecting?

I'm using hp laptop with Windows OS. Every time I try to use internet I lost my wifi signal. I can see the limited signal every time. And when I click on the wifi button it takes forever to search my wifi. I tried to shutdown and restart but I cannot fix the problem. I called both Windows customers service and AT&T but Windows says there is something wrong with my internet and AT&T says there is something wrong with my computer. So losing my hope to use Internet without any problem I'm thinking to change the provider. Also nowadays I'm having problem to connect to wifi with my phone. My wifi just gets lost time to time and I have to wait few minutes till it gets connected. I hope somebody will see this and help me to fix the problem. Thanks

Try, unplugging your power cord from the back of your router wait 10 seconds. Reconnect it back, wait for the broadband and service light to stay solid green. This should take about 5 minutes. Hope this works out for you. Good luck

@newbe1 - It should be the same (but different name/pw). Find your newtork on the computer & enter the PW & connect.

WPS is a "simmplified" method - when WPS buttton is activated on both the RG & the PC they will connect auto.Window is short for security.

Make sure WPS is enabled in RG. Is this your GUI - http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_2_1

This has been going on since May and I convinced them the router was bad. Got a new Router but I'm having to reboot it about every 2nd day. Getting annoying and thinking of going to Comcast.

Situation -

All appropriate lights are on: Power, Wireless, System and Broadband However, cannot connect to the Wireless Network and hence cannot connect to the internet - When I try to log onto the homepage of the router through wireless, cannot reach it. I did another reboot this morning -

This is a short view of the event log - the first line is where I started the reboot. What the heck is it doing that results in the acs connreq about every 2 hours as it seems not to come back from there? Should I be requesting ANOTHER new modem? I tend to think it is a modem issue because all the lights are on and no connection is possible.

Hi @kdphipps,

Sorry to read of your experience. In the past, modem environment has played a factor when it comes to internet service. It can make or break the service. Check out this article, it may help.

By chance, do you have any other wi-fi devices and is the loss happening on all of them?
