Extend Uverse Coax Cable

I have a Uverse coax cable that comes into my house and into the modem.  I want to extend the cable that goes into the modem by using a standard F -splice barrel connector (female to female) and then another coax cable.

I heard you cannot use just any coax splice connector, do I need a special connector?  The last time AT&T was here, they replaced all my coax connectors.

Can I use just any store bought coax cable?

You need to use the following:

- RG-6 or RG-6 quad shield cable, certified to 1.5 GHz
- Compression-fit connectors (no crimp-style connectors nor screw-on type connectors)
- The barrel connector must be certified for HPNA installations, compatible to 1.5 GHz
