ATT Internet install? HAHAHA...

So.. I just moved to a new house where the only option for Internet is ATT..

I already had Directv service for 7+ years so called to have my tv service transferred and setup new internet service.

Of course its all based in some foreign country.
They took all my information told me it was all good to go for install Sat March 4th..

well that day came and went.. no tech.. not even a phone call..

Called support again.. got a new date for Today March 6th..

Get a phone from someone in the US telling me they can't install my internet because they have "equipment problems"

I ask about an ETA for internet service and I'm told "Sometime"  seriously.. NO Eta.. a few days.. a month.. years? nope they have no idea. I guess when ever they get to it?

Now I have no TV service and no internet until "sometime" in the future? date unknown?

I'm missing Charter internet already. If i was 2 miles down the road I would be telling ATT where to put their internet service and go with Xfinity and cancel all my ATT services.
This has been been the worst experience. I'm dreading my future interactions with this horrible service.

Where my tech tool?  Ridiculous bull crap right there.  You can use it all you want but it doesnt make a bit of difference.   We used it all three times we waited for a tech and still have no service as no one ever showed up or called.  We are out hundreds of dollars in missed wages.  Good luck to you with there where's my tech app....its useless.

Join the crowd. 5 Missed appointments and nothing but lies to cover up other lies. You would think in this day and age companies would understand the importance of wasting time.

I’m having the same issue. I told them this evening that if someone didn’t show up, I would be calling to cancel service alltogether. I’ll be on the phone doing that first thing in the morning. 2 -3 weeks after adding internet and still can’t use it! I got a promo offer in the mail from 2 other companies. They will get my business!

as a follow up.. my internet still works. "Most of the time"
Ya see, out here in Rural Tennessee they use the old Bell South infrastructure and the dmarcs are a rest nest.
every time someone changes/adds or removes a line in my little town. the a tech will look in the box of mangled rats nest wire and break a connection or miswire it.

Lucky for me I live less than100 yards from the DLSAM and 50 ft form the dmarc for me and my neighbors.I can see them both from my front porch.

so if my connection dies first thing i do is look outside.

Which as been the cause of all 3 of my outages in the 4 months i've lived out here.

Once I happened to see a ATT lineman out on a Sunday on the pole for my neighborhood. seems he lives down the road about a mile and his service went out also.

After talking to him (he was a really nice guy) he said some noob tech miswired three circuits. his, mine and a new neighbor. he fixed all three.

SO if i see my service is down, I look outside and talk to the dude working on it and remind him NOT to break my stuff..so far my system works.

Good Luck.

Best bet to get a local failure fixed is to hunt down a ATT truck in your neighborhood. Calling India is a waste of time to those types of problems.. they just read a script and have zero info about your local infrastructure.

Sadly its not the good old days when you just can call a local office and talk to a dispatcher directly.

ATT is my only option out here.. (at least until 5g gets deployed out here)..and even though I had some growing pains with the connection

ATT is a surprisingly fast service with low latency.

I’m dealing with the same situation right now, how did you get this resolved?

I don't know about the other folks but for me I forgot that one of our family members works for att. He was able to talk to the tech and they came over the same day "after 7 no shows". The big problem is the techs are fed information and have no idea when they will finish the job they are on. You keep getting shuffled down the board until they get to it. Oh they will just keep missing appointment after appointment until your the priority which is total *****. I almost lost my work from home job because of ATT if that would have happened in the middle of building a new home I would have showed up in Atlanta. A word of advice - don't trust anything they say on the phone or on the "where is my tech" joke. It makes no difference in any way. All 7 times mine showed that the appointment was still on. Advice number 2 - it does no good to get mad at them on the phone, they will just say anything to get you off the line. Advice 3 if you ask to talk to a manager you get the same as #2 but this time a little more convincing. I even had them tell me he was driving my direction on 2 of the no calls no shows.

Bottom line. If you can get any other service DO IT.

PS. The line they ran to my house is still running down the middle of my street about 500 yards. LOL what a joke been like this for 2 months now. They need to start firing mangers from the top down and lock up the person who made the operations policy.
