netflix - not connected to internet message

My ability to get Netflix through my wireless internet connection is sporadic. Sometimes I can connect, other times no. A not connected to internet message appears on the screen, but my computer is connected just fine. I don't understand why the service is sporadic and what can be done? Tired of paying for Netflix and not being able to watch.
