hp desktop shows DNS can not connect to server.

Hey guys, really couls use some help getting my desktop back online with UVerse! I continually get the above message

when the troubleshooter is run.

Now, I am typing this on my tablet, so it obvious the wireless is working. However, on the hp desktop, I can not connect

with ethernet OR wireless.

I have gone into Network Adapters and changed both the primary and secondary DNS server addresses to the recommended

208 67 222 222 for preferred and  208 67 220 220 for alternate, with no success.

I have rebooted the computer and modem, a Pace Americas 3801 HGV... BTW, I am running windows 8.0, at 64 bits.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you try setting it to find the DNS server address automatically?

Or....if you prefer specifying the DNS server address....Here is what I am currently using with great success:

#1   10.0.0.1

#2    205.171.2.65

I also have an HP desktop with Windows 8.1 - 64 bit

If you can get it up and running you can then go to this web site and download "NameBench" a good app. which will clue you in on the fastest DNS for you at your location.

https://code.google.com/p/namebench/
