Just to clarify terminology you have some device (e.g., computer)  and have used its internet access through a wifi connection to your gateway?

Or...

You have a att tv wireless receiver (which some confuse with wifi) and now want to connect it via ethernet bypassing the WAP?

If an ethernet connection to a device plug one in end into one of the yellow ports on the gateway and the other end into the device.  Set the device's network settings for using DHCP, it's (for example, OpenDNS - 208.67.222.222/208.67.220.220) or google DNS - 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4), renew the DHCP lease (and maybe reboot the device) and you should be good to go.

If wireless receiver connect it's network port to one of the yellow ports on the gateway, remove WAP, reboot gateway (pull plug for 15 secs. and let it fully reboot), and reboot wireless receiver.

ok, thank you for the help. Running HP G61 laptop, Win7pro, set up with
qualcomm wi-fi at 65 Mbps. Moved Ethernet cable to yellow socket #4 from
very top socket, resett button, windows recongnized ATT immediately.
Disabled qualcomm wi-fi, now running realtek Ethernet at 100Mbps. Hooray !
Thank u "Ace" for responding. Now, does anyone know why You Tube is not
playing ? Maybe I buggered-up something during this ten-hour mess of a
switch over.

Not playing at all or just stalling a lot?  Stalling a lot can happen, apparently even folks with gigabit ethernet are complaining about that (not sure I've seen any recently though).  Not having enough bandwidth can cause that.  You didn't say what tier internet service you have but, say, for example, you are currently recording 4 HD programs at the same time that will take away from your available internet bandwidth.   Similarly if you have many other cycle intensive processes running on your computer there's just so much available to your browser process.

If you cannot view youtube at all that's probably a different problem.  You could try a different browser for comparison.
