Terribly Slow Internet Every Night

AT&T is one of the most awful services out there. I'm the only one up right now and I'm consistently getting 0.42 Mbps. This is actually extremely frustrating because I am catching up on work. I understand your "maximum" may vary in terms of speed, but if I'm the ONLY ONE USING IT and it's still running this slow, then we have an issue. I've reset the router and restarted the computer. I am right next to the router when I work. I have an Ethernet cable plugged in. Despite ALL of these actions to reduce a slow connection, factors indicate that you intentionally throttle speeds at night because you don't expect heavy traffic at these hours. That is sensible logic, but unfortunately for you, I'm paying you for a service to get 20 Mbps. That means whenever I use my internet, I should be getting the attempted maximum. Yes if 5 other devices were connected and in use, I would be more understanding about these abysmal speeds, but the fact that I'm the only one using the internet, billed a price for 20 MBPS, and obtaining 0.42 is outrageous and unacceptable. Clearly AT&T has a major problem with this as seen by the plethora of similar tickets, and it's honestly quite disappointing that in this day and age companies like yours are able to take advantage of customers with absolutely no consequence. In fact, you have essentially been getting these types of tickets since your conception as an IP in 1983. For over 30 years it seems that nothing has changed for the better. After new technology settles in, your company goes back to its slimy methodologies once integrated. I sincerely hope that AT&T realizes that sacrificing morality, integrity, and reputation is not worth the slightly higher profit margin. Please be better.

I agree. I'm convinced they do throttle at night. In my case, they cut my service all together every evening. I think the FCC and/or the FTC need to investigate what they're doing to consumers.

What would be a logical reason for such a late night throttle-back? It's more likely a recurring physical issue in your area. Have you worked with customer service to try and diagnose the issue?
