Smart Home Manager

Why are there so many devices listed (14). Could someone else be connected to my router. I can't possibly have that many devices. Do I just go around and turn everything off and then back on one at a time to determine what's what so I can label correctly?

Re: Smart Home Manager

Hi @Jjcdenk

That definitely sounds like a lot of devices! It's a good idea to go through your home and check to make sure that each device listed on your Smart Home Manager app is accounted for. If you see something listed that shouldn't be, it's possible that someone else managed to connect to your network. Luckily, you can use the app to turn off access for certain devices. You may want to consider changing your Wi-Fi password as well. We have some instructions and information that you should take a look at on how to keep your network secure. Check it out here.

It's easier than you think (to have many devices).

I like to check all devices by MAC address.  You should be able to map each connected device .

Some setups like Uverse TV wireless set-top box throws additional devices and may not be obvious at first what they are.

I'd also recommend using factory default settings for SSID and wireless password.  This should make it harder for others to connect .

In a family of 5, I have close to 30 devices.
