Site returns 502 Bad Gateway

I have a strange problem, hoping someone may have a hint where to dig.

A web page on site itself opens just fine. On a web page there are links to download videos. That's where problem starts: If I click on link to download a video (for example, this one (b/w movie about 1812 war) - *****), then i get "502 Bad Gateway" page.

I use Firefox, and updated settings like cookies and cleaned cache. Up until last week the videos could be downloaded just fine; then all of a sudden it stopped in one day. The same 502 error page I get on another computer in my home. Firefox/IE - the same error page.

Techsupport of the site with videos suggests, that my ISP (ATT U-verse) has a Gateway setup, which prevents the downloading. Unfortunately I don't know whether the settings are in my router or somewhere on att side. Does anyone has a suggestions which settings I can check in my router (Arris NVG589)?

There was a topic on this forum with suggestion to turn off IPV6; I did that, but this didn't help.

Any thoughts or suggestions how to narrow possible cause will be appreciated..

Thanks!

Don't confuse the word "gateway" in that "502 Bad Gateway" error message.  That's not a reference to the att resident "gateway".

Does that error occur that one video or all videos from that site?  If just that one (or even a few) video then it's their server or site that has the problem.  Might try changing your DNS but I doubt that will change anything.

Note sure why the moderators though it was necessary to censor your link to it assuming that is what they censored.  Unless it was because you used the magic words "download" and "video" in the same sentence!  Man Happy

Thank you for the answer xyzzy.

Answering your questions, all videos available for d*load reply with same 502 Bad Gateway message.

I also tried to use an app for d*loading jobs instead of internet browser. That app generates a log, which I post below; I removed the name of the site, if that seems to be a violation of rules. Is there any useful info in that log message below?

So you don't know if this site ever worked.  I'm not really going to play guessing games here even though I see the avi filename in the trace. There is no guarantees when you find these sites they will work.  I searched for that avi and all it turned up was a torrent site and a few sites where you need to sign up.  And sign up sights usually find some way to protect from download.

IMO just forget it. No one is going to pursue this "problem" for this use.

Well, thank you anyway for answering and sharing your opinion.

The site offers both torrent and no-torrent downloads. I do not use torrents and downloaded files as "Save as..."

During the last couple of years I used the site regularly and downloaded hundreds of files; it all stopped yesterday (((

Thank you!
