My new Amazon Fire stick and Echo will not connect to my wifi network, how to solve?

We just purchased a new Amazon Fire TV Stick and Amazon Echo Dot. I followed all the direction via the echo dot and "alexa" states "not connected to wifi". 

My other wireless devices are working okay, why will my TV stick not connect to my wifi?
