Cannot ping static IP's or router

Why can I no longer ping any of my static IP addresses from the Internet (using ping.eu)?

I have a 2wire 3800HGV-B that has worked well for several years (rented). I can no longer access (ping) any of the machines assigned, nor does the router respond to ping on its public address.

The machines have static addresses assigned, and I can reach the internet from them. Tracert from ping.eu fails at an AT&T network machine.

I verified all settings in router's LAN config, and each of the machines is set up in DMZplus mode.

To all reading, I did a factory reset and reconfigured. Works now. AT&T may be blocking icmp requests from ping.eu servers. Network-Tools.com came in handy.

Hi @dk-00-00,

Rebooting the modem and re-entering the settings may work. Also, there is a setting in the modem to Block Ping. Unchecking that may help. It is under the Firewall setting.

If everything is routing correctly, and it is all working besides Ping requests, it could be an issue with the Ping packet getting discarded. You can get a packet tracing software like wireshark to see what is happening.

No traffic is making it in. No igmp, http, ftp, etc.. Nothing.

Like I said, AT&T static addresses have been working fine for years. Then suddenly, nothing coming in.

I would venture to say there was a filter put in place or something broken upstream (possibly at 12.122.18.29), so no internet traffic to my network. Outbound works as expected.
