Amazon Echo Dot keeps losing connection to WiFi

My Amazon Echo and Echo Dot worked fine for 9 months and now suddenly both continuously drop connection to WiFi. Nothing has change over this time...same router, same physical locations etc.  My question is not how to fix it...but...WHY DOES/DID IT OCCUR with so many users of Alexa.  What makes it suddenly happen the first time? Thanks

Hi @Anonymous6,

With only the Echo Dot losing it's connection while other wireless devices retain theirs, the problem is pointing towards the Echo Dot. I understand that you have already connected it only to the 2.4GHz network but the problem is still occuring. You may want to connect it only to the 5GHz network and see if the results are any different. Another potential cause could be interference. You may want to relocate the Echo Dot to a different location strictly for troubleshooting purposes.
