ATT Lineman exterior line repair
I just signed up for internet. The installation techs have been on-site trying to install 3 times now. At first they couldn't find where the main line comes into the house. I found where the line comes in by getting my own sounder and tracing it down behind the laundry room.
Now the last tech connected his fluke tester between the house, and then between the utility pole and the At&t box down the street and said there is a "short somewhere in the line" and he needed a lineman to come track the issue down before a technician can come back to install service at the house.
He said he would open up a ticket, and i haven't heard since. I tried to call at&t but all they want to do is to schedule another tech to come out and waste each others time.
Can someone help?

This is at least the 10th call I have made for service repair and have been given two different service fix by days and times and nothing has been done still!!! The number needing repair is my Mother's at an assisted living facility. She is panicky without a phone. Why can't you get it repaired as promised?

Same day? I called Saturday and was told it would be Tuesday afternoon. I talked to the construction crew that I suspected had broken the line. They said they had hit the line Friday and a technician had been out Friday and worked on it. When I told them service was still out they called and a technician was there a couple of hours later. He located the problem but then sat in his truck 30 minutes then left without fixing it. Finally a competent technician came out Tuesday and restored service within 30 minutes.
Apparently customers calling the 800 customer service number get low priority. I was given a 3 day wait time The contractor called a different number two different days and had same day service.
