Just has to go to your TV, not the Uverse box. Use composite cables from the DVD player to the same TV input. If a Blue Ray player, use component cables or HDMI.
Then you can choose the DVD player thru TV/Video on the TV remote or after pressing the TV button on the Uverse remote then TV/Video. On my Panasonic I can toggle thru all the TV inputs w/the Uverse remote by pressing the TV/Video button again and again.
