What kind of Modem should buy for my AT&T DSL service?
I' am looking to buy a modem for my AT&T DSL service . I go online to check out my choices and I get, this one works this one doesn't work with AT&T. There must be somebody at AT&T that knows that works with their service? I don't want to have to get different ones to try out. there must be a list of modems that work with there service?

Are you looking to add a router? You can place a second router behind the AT&T provided router but not replace it.

Greetings @WillPhoneYou!
Wanting to purchase a modem which works with AT&T can be stressful. I am happy to assist.
The best way to get a compatible modem would be to go directly through AT&T. I would like to refer you to this article which includes a lot of information about the modems used with AT&T DSL service.
Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community Forums! Have a great day!

I have had CenturyLink DSL Service for 10 years and after they merged with AT&T my service has been getting so slow that I can no longer do online banking. I am looking for a modem to purchase that offers the best security. I have chosen a router that will last for several years regardless of where I live.
Why do they have to make it so confusing? At one point they charged me an extra $10.00 a month for higher speeds until I learned that the maximum we can get here is 2mb. I really can't trust the information provided over the phone. I tried to lower my bill by signing up for the "Price for Life", plan and was told they couldn't do that without changing my telephone service which is precarious at best. It often doesn't work when the ground is wet. This is 2018 not 1970!
Thank you for any help you can give me.

router. Since AT&T has joined Direct TV it has gone downhill. AT&T charged
me for a cell phone for years promising that they were putting up a tower
near me and were about to improve the service in my area. That was about 7
years ago and still they have nothing here. I did learn that for your own
protection you should look for a router with internet protection or sign up
with a VPN program. NordVPN had a great deal in Jan. Not sure now. I
purchased a router with VPN support. Usually you can find a modem/router
combination that will work with your provider.
Good luck.

The same here guys I ordered services for internet and satellite every time I call someone tells me something different ordered their service opted for self install the a technician still shows up to my house says he's there to make sure my line was good for internet services he walks the yard climbs the light pole then leaves without running the main phone service line to the house also know as demark service feed so when I call to tell them this they tell me that I can have a technician come but it'll be 100 dollars and now they are allowed to buy time warner cable service this is a terrible company to have service for I wouldn't recommend them to anyone

I have various routers/modems. They are Netgear, Pace and 2 Wire. They are all excellent.
They were purchased from AT&T. [Edited to comply with Guidelines]

Correct, these work well, including the 2 Wire.
I have several of them for sale on the Metro Detroit Craiglist "Electronics".
Some are new and some are used. They are fast and have a long
operating distance, better than Comcast.
I just switched to Comcast Cable and have no longer use for them.

are fine for att dsl but I personally wouldn’t get any att service because
they don’t offer service equally to everyone if you live in a poor
neighborhood they will only give a slow download speed which means it’ll
take a while for you to download movies and games but you’ll get great
