@DavidCS - I no longer care about the HPNA trafffic, and I really would prefer that the HG acted purely as a modem, and let my router handle all routing, firewall, DHCP, etc., but I've been told that can't be done.  I am not interested in just seeing all the traffic, so port mirroring doesn't do what I'd like.

@Jrandomuser - What issues are you running into when you try to do this? It definitely can't handle all traffic, just because of unique things, such as VOIP or TV, but it should be able to do all the internet routing. I have a router behind router setup in my house, and it works with no issues. Granted, I may not be trying to do anything as complicated as you, but my internal home network has no issues, and external access works as needed.

@melodymay67,

What exactly  happens when trying to log into your account?

Do you have combined AT&T and DirecTV services?

I recently came back to Direct TV & cannot login on any device. My account is no longer bundled but was previously. When I log in it wants my att info. I have called numerous times & username has been been reset numerous times. The last person I talked to says it cannot be fixed. I am not happy I want to use the direct tv app & can't.
