Router Upgrade?
I've had the same router for a very long time and am eager to get mine upgraded. Judging by all the similar posts I've seen, this is incredibly difficult to get sorted over the phone. What are my options? I have U-Verse with no TV (the "AT&T Internet 24" plan).

Do you need faster wifi?
Is there a problem with the current gateway?
What gateway do you currently have? Is it the 2-Wire 3800HGV-B Gateway?
If the answer to any of those questions is "yes", then ask tech support for a replacement. I don't think they give users 3800's anymore so you will get something newer. If you just want to update for update sake, well, with this stuff I always say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"!
Note, most of the newer gateways connect to the "outside" with cat5 while the old 3800 could connect with coax. So if you were using a coax connected 3800 be prepared for some new wiring if you don't already have the cat5 in place.
