Live TV channels and guide unavailable in Uverse App for iPad

I am a new Uverse customer and have installed the Uverse app on both my iPad and my Samsung galaxy phone. In both cases I can link to the receiver and control the channels but I cannot view the guide nor can see any of the LiveTV channels that should be available. The phone (android 4.4.2) displays a blank screen after "loading" the channels. My iPad (iOS 7.1.2) says "no channels were found...".

I cannot view or display the guide either.

Anyone have an idea as to what is going on?
