Several times a day the red service light comes on and broadband connection drops. Only way to resolve it is reboot modem (unplug power and dsl line, wait 20 sec and plug both back in). Only to have it happen gain seemingly randomly - couple of hours. This is a Pace 5031nv modem. Ideas?
Look at the FEC/CRC error statistics in the broadband section of your gateway (192.168.1.254). Maybe there's something wrong with the line. Call tech support (800-288-2020) so they can check it from their end.
