Connecting your Printer to WiFi

Connecting your Printer to WiFi

Connecting via WPS

  1. Locate your printer manual. You will want to learn how to access the printer WiFi settings. Some printers are able to connect via WPS. If your printer has the capability to connect this way:
  2. Log into your gateway at http://192.168.1.254.
  3. Go to the Wireless Settings
  4. Enable WPS and Save
  5. After WPS is enabled, press the WPS button located on the front of your gateway.

  6. Then press the WPS button on the printer. The printer should automatically connect in less than a minute.

Connecting via WiFi Password

  • If your printer connects via a Wireless password, you will want to find your printer manual to find out how to enter it. Most printers come with a setup disc to guide you through the process. You can find your Network Name and Wireless information here.

Dude, thanks for the guide, but that didn't help me. I don’t know what is the reason, but my damn printer gives an error on the screen, when I try to do this. Any tips? If I do not find a solution in the near future, I will buy another printer. My friends told me about one cool model on mrdepot.ca and said it was a very high-quality printer. So I need your advice! Have you ever used a printer from this site ??

Thank you so much.  Very helpful to this old gal.  worked like a charm.

Question though, how did going to that web address connect with my particular AT and T router?

192.168.1.254 is a local, "non-routable" address, see this article in Wikipedia about private IP addressing.  All AT&T Routers come out of the box with this as their LAN-side address, though you can change it (mine is actually 192.168.2.254).

Connect Brother HL2270DW to ATT ARRIS BGw210

Go to gateway above.   Go to WIFI tab

Look on side of Router and get Device ID put that in on pop up screen

Go to WPS button and hit the button

You will see WPS on router front blinking

Putt slim object into printer hole "A" below the printer cable input port.  Hold slim object in hole for 3 secs.  Toner light on top will blink

Printer will print a sheet with WIFI protected setup PIN CODE

Put Pin code into WPS PIN box

Wait a couple of minutes and the Printer will go to ready and print out a sheet that says  Connection: OK
