What is the bgw210-700 port forwarding vpn passthrough?
I need help, I just got your service and I have been pulling my hair out on how in the world to get my router to work behind this modem/router. I have configured IP Passthrough and have now disabled the AT&T normal WiFi. I got it all working well for my home network. Issue I have now is, I cannot find a way to forward ports to allow connections thru putty, HTTP and VNC from outside the local network. I have the ports forwarded on my router, but using the public IP to get there doesn't work.
I feel like the Cascaded Router option is maybe where I need to go, but I cannot seem to get it to accept the numbers I am giving it.
I have been really upset about this setup, it has not been a good start for me and AT&T. I just left Charter but may consider moving back next year if I cannot get this resolved.
Thank you
Joshua

Have you tried this configuration?
https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Internet-Features/How-to-put-the-Motorola-NVG589-in-bridge-mode-or-as-close-as-you/m-p/5504661#M27602
(Put your device back in DHCP mode, BTW).

Cascaded Router is NOT the place you want to go.
Can you provide screenshots of your Passthrough page?
Can you confirm that your router shows that its external address is your public address?

You may be right, I think my router WAN (second page) is setup now with a
static IP of the IP I gave it on the pas thru. Maybe I need to set the
Gateway as the public IP?

Your images show up as "[image: image.jpg]". Did you e-mail your reply? You may need to come back to the forums and use the image tool.

I cannot figure out the image thing.
Allocation Mode - Passthrough
Default Server Internal Address - 192.168.1.1
Passthrough Mode Manual
Passthrough Fixed Mac Address - The routers MAC
Passthrough DHCP Lease - 10 Min
WAN Setup on Router
Connection Type - Static IP
WAN IP Address - 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.1.254
Static DNS 1 0.0.0.0
Router IP Local IP Address - 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.1.254
Local DNS 192.168.1.254
I wonder if the Gateway needs to be my Public IP?

Since you made the Passthrough Mode "Manual", yes it does.

Should I do it on both Gateways on the router?

Thank you, this did it! I had to then port what I needed thru the NAT/Gaming tab to allow it to go thru to Passthrough.
Only issue have right now is, it is saying that I cannot pass port 22, which is for SSH, because it conflicts with a reserved port (22). Any thoughts?

You should not have to do port forwarding on the bgw at all.
