cancel sbcglobal.net email account

We haven't had ATT service for decades but have continued to use the original email account (@sbcglobal.net).  For years it's been a Yahoo account.  Now it's been hacked and I can't get into it.  When I try to reset the password I have to answer a security question I never set up .  I just need to close the account and (better) erase all the info before I do.  But first I need to access it and can find no person or source to help me do that.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello @sinnis,

Any time an account is hacked can raise a concern and be problematic.  I understand you would like to gain access to your account prior to closing.  We have some great resources which may be able to help!

You can check out our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool.  Here, you choose Internet tab > Email Setup and Repair.  Here, you can follow a troubleshooting flow to determine the best resolution for your email!  You can also troubleshoot accessing email.  You can review information for resetting the email password and updating your security questions. This link will provide many resources for your email account including deleting your account.

If you still need help, please don’t hesitate to contact us back.  Have a great day!
