Yahoo account hacked, can't change password

I have been trying to change my password on my sbcglobal.net Yahoo account, but it goes to AT&T webpage. I tried there and it changes my AT&T password, but not the Yahoo one. Very frustrating...I have been getting alot of MAILER-DAEMON emails in my inbox. Any ideas. I do not want to close this account.

I am having the same issue! I have been hacked and the only way to use customer service or to unlink the accounts is to have a way into the ATT account.  I cannot get this solved so every time I login I have to get a verification code to get into my account

My @sbcglobal.net was hacked and  I am unable to log in without a verification code. When I get to change my password it sends me to the AT&T website and I don't think I have an account or at least not one that has been active since 2011. And I don't remember my password or username from that time.

I was on the phone for 2 and 1/2 hours with "tech support". They escalated me three times, so I spoke to four people. The first three couldn't understand the problem and the fourth one very slowly walked through it all with me. Then she said she'd write it all up and escalate it to an engineer, and call back within 24-48 hours.

The problem is that the Yahoo! account is hacked - they all are - and is compromised. That means our ATT e-mail is compromised. It's a severe security breach and ATT doesn't have anything in place to handle this problem. It's been this way for at least a year, so indications are they're not worried about your identity security. Even if I deleted the ATT mailbox on Yahoo!, a clever hacker could log in, make a new mailbox and use my name in e-mail to get access to other accounts. Yahoo and ATT have to be unmerged, and they don't seem to know how to do this.

Do we have to switch to Comcast just to fix this security hole?

When support called me back I was connected to a digital assistance specialist. After another 40 minutes on the phone the problem was finally solved: they had to reset and synchronize the passwords and apparently could only do so at that level with my permission. I was then able to change the password on ATT.com and it also changed on yahoo.com. The same process worked for my sub-accounts. Now my yahoo.com password is merged with ATT and I can finally keep it secure. The moral of this tale is to not give up on tech support and eventually you'll get elevated to a level where: (a) they'll understand what the problem is, and (b) they can fix it for you.

i have been trying to change my Yahoo password since last year.  Every time I attempt this, I get sent back to AT&T - its frustrating and exhausting.  I believe my Yahoo email has been hacked because family members are getting spam type emails from my yahoo account that I didn't send.   I've tried unsuccessfully to DELETE the yahoo account.  Keep getting error messages, "try again later".  Sick of this.
