You may have been notified that your E-mail account is about to get unmerged. You may have had a merged account where your AT&T E-mail and Yahoo E-mail were merged into a single account, which allowed the password and inboxes to be shared.
If you are not sure if you have a merged account, it is likely you have one if:
What is Happening?
Beginning mid-November 2017, you will no longer be able to sign in to myAT&T or att.net with your Yahoo ID.
Beginning early December 2017, all merged email accounts will be separated into two separate email accounts.
What does this mean to you?
Beginning in mid-November 2017, you will need to start using your AT&T email address to sign in to myAT&T instead of your Yahoo email address.
In early December 2017, you’ll need to start signing in to your AT&T and Yahoo email accounts separately since you will now have two unique accounts.
What about my Sub-accounts?
What about my E-mails, Contacts, and Folders

I have sbcglobal.net - all my contacts and emails prior to Dec 18 have disappear or erased. Don't know why. How do I recover?

I have a yahoo account and sbcglobal email account linked together and I can no longer access my sbcglobal email through my yahoo account. The sbcglobal global email is no longer linked to my yahoo account. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have followed advice of others still not working. This is plain ridiculous. AT&T should give us something for this nonsense. I have everything important in my folders. I wish we could talk to someone. AT&T giving me the runaround when I call since I don't have my internet provider with them.

is there a way to carry over folders and contact list from my yahoo email to my att email? (unmerged)?

Contacts list, yes. The contacts actions have the ability to export and import.
Email folders, no and yes. No, there is no way to do it in the webmail interface. Yes, I think it can be done with an email client app (e.g., Thunderbird, Outlook, mobile device's email, etc.).
Although I never tried since I never needed to do it, I an envision that if were are already using a email client app for the "old" account simply create the "new" account in the client and copy the folders from the "old" account to the "new" account within the client email app. If these are IMAP accounts the "new" account on the server should populate itself from the client. And you are good to go.
If you weren't previously using a client email app you could do the transfer in a similar fashion by using a client app to aid in the transfer. Create both the "old" and "new" accounts as IMAP in the client. The "old" account should get populated from the server. And now you are in the same state I just described previously. Copy the folders to the new account which should in turn create the folders on the server.
Disclaimer: there may or may not be a few wrinkles in this idea since I am making up as I was writing this. But on the surface it appears feasible to me using IMAP in a client app as the vehicle to sync up the servers.

This is not helpful. Like everyone else, I have literally 1000's of important emails in probably 100 folders that are gone. Emails from my now deceased sister, info from every business and organization I have had direct contact with, utility info I use to pay bills...everything is gone. This is NOT a good way to run a business. It was a real plus when AT&T bought DirecTV, Headache #1. Now they decide for security reasons, to unmerge my account from yahoo mail after 20+ years, and like everything AT&T touches, it turns to crap. Headache #2.

I should add, when I tried to use AT&T's email recovery link, it took me in circles. They're some real geniuses.

Do you have a yahoo.com email address that you never use? I had one and that’s where my folders went. Sign into your account on yahoo and look at your account profile and see if you can find a yahoo ID there. If you have one you can reset the password and get on. It’s so frustrating that they don’t have any support. They handled this merge terribly.

I was told I have to pay a $49.99 fee to get help with this issue.
I am livid.
I think we need to take further action as a group since we are all having problems.

Those of you that now have a att email account and an yahoo email account and want to move the contents (email mailboxes and contacts) from one to another might want to look at the following thread:

Well another problem is that I can't access my old Yahoo address online. Therefore, not able to get to my folders or contacts. I have two separate accounts..which I don't understand why we can't have one.
