What does alph158.prodigy.net mean?

I recently sent an cc'd an email to myself and a few other people using my normal prodigy email account. I noticed upon its arrival in my inbox that the recipient's address had "alph158.prodigy.net" affixed to the end of his address. This was also true of one of the other cc'd recipients who has a Yahoo.com email address. Does anyone know what's happening here, and do you think my email was able to get through? Thanks so much

That is actually the name of a server, likely an email relay server.

Hi @DLG56!

Prodigy.net is an old domain we acquired through the years, and it's likely coming up because the recipients may have set the email up through us (AT&T). If they're both yahoo email addresses, then it might be a result of the Yahoo merger with Verizon.

However, the recipients who have this showing up in their addresses should still receive your email.

Let us know if you need anything else!

Something appears to be automatically replacing some text content that is a URL (e.g. Prodigy.net) with a URL/link (e.g. https://soc.att.com/2KiNCr6 ) and this isn't helpful.
