I have the same problem. My Inbox was suddenly cleared of all email prior to 2014. Today I just discovered that my Sent folder suddenly lost all contents prior to February 2014. It's as though AT&T is clearing out 'old' emails on their own (much like as is done with Spam and Trash). How is this happening in the Inbox, and now in my Sent box? How can I recover those emails?

I had the same issue occur a few months ago. I called AT&T to figure out what was going on and why this happened. They tried to insist I "must" have been hacked. I tried to explain that ONLY the Inbox was affected this way. Anything in the sent folder or other folders was untouched, so this answer doesn't make sense. They STILL tried to insist that it MUST have been a hacker, and insisted that I change my password. So I did, and made it a very difficult password to guess. The next day, out of 7 emails I received, I was only able to see 6 of them. The seventh email wasn't showing up, but according to how many emails should be in the Inbox, the number was saying 7. So I called AT&T again. And once again, they INSISTED it MUST be a hacker. Really? In LESS than 24 hours of changing the password, they STILL won't admit it could be a problem on AT&T's end?

Needless to say, I no longer use my sbcglobal email. I have told everyone on my contact list to reach me at my Hotmail account, instead. At least that email is reliable. I still have all my old emails in that one. My AT&T email? I no longer trust it, and AT&T Customer Support has proven that they have no idea what they're talking about, and are completely unreliable!

I had the same thing happen a couple months ago and again today. They told me the last time maybe I accidently deleted them or moved them to different folders. I know what I'm doing. I've had this email for many years. I do have folders set up that I move emails to but I don't always have time to move all of them. I don't worry about always moving them because I never had problems with them disappearing before this year. I had some that had sat in my inbox for years and now they are GONE and I can't get them back!!!! I guess I'm going to have to set up a new email with another provided because I can't take this chance again. Twice in one year is enough. And actually in one day. I got on this morning and only had emails back to May 22nd and within 10 minutes only had them back to May 27th. When I contacted ATT they said because it's sbcglobal they couldn't help me. Even though I pay for services through ATT. I hate having to change and contact everyone with my new one but can't take the risk of losing all my stuff again. UGHHHHH. Did you get any resolution with yours?

I have the same problem as described in all the previous emails above with same general description.  This is first time as long as I have had sbcglobal.account, which has been too longer to remember, but well over 10 years, and I have a great deal of experience managing it.   All emails  inbox prior to Janurary 5th were deleted and is not deleting any since.   Fortunately I save important emails in folder I created on regular basis, but not dailly and so lost critical records, including business, which may cause extreme hardships, still trying to evaluate the damage. Those lost have not been inadvertently moved to other folder.  I  have spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what happened, mitigate as much harm as possible...as best as I can tell they are not recoverable need to prevent  from happening again, especially to avoid further damage.

so dimitry,

apparently the community like me have missing emails that should still be accessible but you prefer to deal privately with this instead of replying to the community.  is there a reason for this?

i would really like to hear you explain the problem "out loud" to the rest of us.

I am a long time sbcglobal.net account owner. No problems for 15 years. I have the exact issue as posted with all inbox messages (over 10,000 msgs) having now been deleted by att. All messages prior to April 23, 2016 are now missing. i have been passed around to countless number of people with now more than 4 hours invested on the phone with: yahoo & att. Very disappointed they would delete old message without any communication. More importantly try to blame it on a "client side issue". Very poor service to a long time att customer. Now trying to submit for an e-mail restore through the att.net/mailrestore site. Will update with results.

I too just noticed that all my emails are missing from a particular folder. I have reported it to ATT and no answer as of yet. So frustrating!
