Lost access to sbcglobal.net email

I am no longer a customer of att.net but I have still been using a sbcglobal.net email account for years. I lost access to my email at sbcglobal.net this past week. I have tried to reset the password but wants to send information to the account which I cannot access.   I need some help

Hi @Vaningr

Thanks for reaching out! Did you attempt to answer the security questions you set up? If not, we won't have a way to get the password reset since it's not linked to an AT&T account.

I guess ATTCares doesn't understand your account is not "inactive" if you been using it and only lost access this past week.  So I don't think calling the group to reactivate it is the one to call.  I would suggest calling the Digital Assistance Center (877-273-2728).  There may be problems even there too trying to prove you are you over the phone.  They may want the security question answers too.

Note, if you ever do get back in I suggest you set the forwarding setting to point to your new account so at at least if this happens again you will see any emails sent to the old sbcglobal account.

I did lose access to my sbcglobal.net email account last week. I need to
access xxxxx@sbcglobal.net I have had the same password for many
years. in one session of trying to access the account the system said that
they sent a link to the sbcglobal.net email I cannot access that account
I cannot get far enough to answer any security questions.

Hi QVaningr,

we've got your back! Check out the link to learn how to regain access to your email account if it's locked or inactive. You will then be able to answer you security questions and reset the password.

I tried the link to regain access and I was not able to I am no longer a
customer of ATT. It still wants to access my old account and there is
none. I need to access the account so I can see who sends me emails so I
can redirect them to a different account.

Hi @Vaningr,

You will need to contact the number listed in the link previously provided verify and reactivate your account. If your account has been locked you will need to wait 24 hrs, before trying the password reset steps.
