Keeping pacbell.net email address if I cancel AT&T DSL/internet service.
If I cancel AT&T DSL/internet service but retain my AT&T account for out landline service, will I still be able to use my PacBell.net email service?

We just wanted to help clear up any confusion, @tidwood.
After cancelling an AT&T Internet/DSL account, your email is converted to a "free email" account and still usable, as @_xyzzy_ was saying.
If you ever need technical support for your email after cancelling your account, we have 1 of 2 ways to validate that you are the owner:
We hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to let us know.

Hi @tidwood!
Thank you for reaching out to us! We'd love to answer your question!
Yes you will be able to use your email as long as you're all paid up.
You can also view this great article to get tips on how to get a free AT&T email address.

You don't lose your your current att email address and sub-accounts when you cancel service. But I recommend you make sure you keep a record of your 4-digit account pin, account number, your security questions, and make sure the recovery email address is pointing at a valid email address (preferably not an att address). These things make it less of a hassle in the future if you have to contact att support if there are email problems, for example if problems arise like having trouble changing your password.

We have a 4 digit account pin? Will have to go and find it. We plan on keeping our land line and the recent fires and problems caused to wireless communication by the power utility turning off the power have only re-enforced that decision. Thank you both for the information.

I assume all att internet accounts do. But I cannot be 100% sure for DSL accounts. Basically all I am saying is if you have to call tech support in the future you need to be able to prove you are you over the phone, whatever that takes. Have you ever had a need to call tech support in the past? If so what do they ask you to provide to verify it's your account?

Thank you to everyone wo offered us a solution, but after discussing the cancelling of our AT&T DSL service to go to Spectrum's 200MB service, we have decided to stay with the DSL service since we do not stream anything and while the $44.99 per month for 12 months looks good, we do not want to eventually be paying at least $65.00 per month for a service we wouldn't be using to it's fullest.
I would mark this topic closed if I knew how.
