Font size won't remain as set in "settings".

OK....I've had this problem for a very long time and really getting sick and tired of dealing with it.

In the "settings" menu I have my font size, for writing E-mails, set to medium.  Since the "indent" function does not work with the "tab" key, as it the typing standard for everyone except Yahoo, apparently.....I have to hit the "return" key twice and jump down two lines to start new paragraphs.  Yeah I know there is another work-around.....but on with this particular problem.   Here is a screen capture illustrating what happens every time:

I've often wondered how small it would actually get if I kept on going.    The work-around, of course is to keep highlighting the text and reset the font size.  But that's a pain in the you-know-what.  I often just say to h--- with it and switch over to my Windows Live Mail app.  Do not have the problem there.   But why the heck does Yahoo have to be such a junk system?   I've written for years that AT&T should completely disassociate  itself from Yahoo.  Gee....I must not have any influence.

Any ideas.....anyone?????

Looks like a key mapping or shortcut problem - The double return is being interpreted as a font minus size.

Do you use the computer where you type text in any other setting. Like, just writting a memo.

Does it behave the same? You need to find this mapping & remove.

On my computer command minus(-) will drop the font size down one. Try a command (or equivalent) plus(+)

Somehow the double return is mapped to command minus - either the whole computer or the browser.

This happens only in the Yahoo E-mail app.  No where else.....not in Windows Live Mail....nor with Gmail.....and not in my word processor program.  It DOES happen on both this laptop AND my desktop when I try to write messages in the Yahoo app.  I've tried multiple other apps and word processor apps and have narrowed it down to only the Yahoo program......no matter what PC I'm using.

You'll notice

it does  not happen

here.

Yeah, I expected it is just Yahoo.

I am curious what happens after it reduces & you type command +

On a PC command might be control

OK, A.V.

You got me to thinking.  At my age that takes extra motivation.  Anyway.  I am a long time Firefox browser user.  After reading your first post I decided to try booting up I.E.   And when I tried writing an E-mail on Yahoo the problem had gone away.   MIRACLE!

But I don't like I.E. in other areas and did not want to switch to it permanently......So I went back to my Firefox and entered the "VIEW" menu on the tool bar.  There I set everything back to the browser's default.  (I had the zoom set to text only)

Then I tried writing an E-mail in the Yahoo app and the problem had gone away.  So the problem apparently existed between Firefox and Yahoo.  But it is still strange that there was no problem between Firefox and either Windows Live Mail or Gmail.

Thanks for stimulating my gray matter Aviewer.

RE: (I had the zoom set to text only)

Does seem to be part of the puzzle & certainly a way to end the aggravation. How the double return activates it will have to remain a mystery.

I noticed that the command +/- is what I use for screen zoom (so I can read it). It appears to apply differently for different apps (e.g. zoom or font size). In your case, it is selectable.

Glad we could run it down.
