Email message going to draft folder

When I attempt to send an email message, it goes to my draft folder and not to the intended receiver. Help!

We'd love to help, @Lrrdz1.

Have you made sure that they are not being sent out by checking the outbox, and a copy is being saved in your draft folder? Also, have you tried using a different browser?

It's a good idea to review your filters, and make sure there aren't any that may be in place by clicking on the gear icon in your webmail, and clicking on Filters. Make sure there aren't any filters that may be putting your mail in draft for any reason.

Here are some good troubleshooting tips for sending and receiving email issues.

John, I have done everything you suggested. I am using Chrome for my email. This problem is sudden! One day I went in and saw NINE messages I had responded to in my draft messages folder. I was unable to do anything with them other than to delete them. There used to be an option to edit a message in the draft folder, but now the only highlighted option is the trash can! I have no filters, it doesn't seem to matter if I use Chrome or ie or Edge. This seems to be an issue with responding to emails, rather than creating new ones. It is getting so exasperating that I am almost ready to dump ATT altogether.

Also, my email is a pacbell.net address.

Are you sending from the webmail or an email client app?

If an email client app which one and is it configured as POP or IMAP?

Do you have a legacy account (e.g. sbcglobal.net, pacbell.net, bellsouth.net, etc., i.e., any att domain other than att.net)?

My wife is having the same problem on her sbcglobal.net email account. She uses the yahoo web page for her email and doesn't have any filters established. Both her laptop and her android cell phone have the same problem. When she attempts to send an email it goes to her draft folder.

I sent a test email from my sbcglobal.net account to her, which she did receive. When she tried to respond, she got a message that "Your message cannot be sent because it resembles spam and/or contains only links. Please modify your message and try again."

I also have an sbcglobal.net email account and am not having these problems, either using the yahoo web page or, most of the time MS Outlook.

Changing the account password works for many when they get that particular error message.

My account is a pacbell.net account. I have not received that error, but when I respond to email it goes into the draft folder and does not go out. I cannot send from the draft folder as all options except the garbage can are greyed out. Now what?
