Email locked out?

So my father cancelled our att account and I recently found out, my att email was still active during this time but now I cannon access it and it is my main email and has been for years. I read on the forum that I can still keep the email without att but I can't reset my password or anything to get into my settings to make any changes to the account at all. help?
