Email in my @att.net & Yahoo account inbox has been deleted for years prior to 2018?

I discovered yesterday that all email in my inbox for @att.net has been deleted for years prior to 2018.  I checked and the email in my inbox for the Yahoo account has also been deleted.  This is not a case of accidentally deleting the email.  Can anyone explain why this happened?  Better still, can the missing email be recovered?  Thanks for your help.

Greetings @BigredNC,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.  Before asking for a restore, keep in mind:

  • We can only restore emails from the past 7 days.
  • You can’t cancel a restore request.
  • Restoration efforts aren’t always successful.
  • Recovered emails go into the same folders they were in on the restore date you pick. Check your trash folder if you can’t find them after the restoration.

You should back up any important emails received or sent in the past 7 days.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Have a wonderful week.

This does NOT solve the problem! AT&T has deleted years worth of email, not me. You are responsible for restoring!

in is Oct 2019 and for the past 3 days in my 3 account with att all the email delete from the in box - I have spent literally 20+ hours and chatted with over 10 tech and not one can help. this has all but shut down my business. I even created a new account yesterday and it worked for  24 hrs then starting deleting too - we have tried on different computer and they keep going back to trying to fix Outlook but I really believe the problem in on the server as even without Outlook running I cant keep the emails on the sever - this is a nightmare

@Lindalgp

If you are running outlook, is the account configured as POP or IMAP?

For authorization are you using your account password, secure mail key, or OAuth(2)?

Is that one outlook client the only client accessing the email account (other than the webmail)?

... even without Outlook running I cant keep the emails on the sever - this is a nightmare

Does the following summarize the problem?

  1. Outlook and no other email client apps are running.
  2. You receive a new email in the webmail inbox (or as an test you send an email to yourself and it gets received in the webmail inbox).
  3. That new email disappears after some period of time?  It's not in the trash, spam, or archive.

The techs have tried to configure it both ways neither worked.
We have tried passwords and key neither helped
Ys outlook was the only client
