DIRECTV.Net Email Changes - FAQs From The AT&T Community

The directv.net email service has been discontinued. For assistance in retrieving your email data, you may contact our advanced email support specialists by emailing: Attnetmail-support@att.com.

What is changing?
WildBlue Internet service and billing through DIRECTV will no longer be supported.  Customers should find an alternate Internet solution before their Internet service is discontinued.

When will the change happen?
Active accounts will be discontinued on 1/31/19.  Customers will lose access to their email 30 days after their account is discontinued.  A new free email account can be easily created on att.net by going to www.att.net.

What if I do nothing?
Active accounts will be disconnected on 1/31/19.  Customers are encouraged to call the number provided in their communication to find an alternate Internet service.  You will lose access to your email account on 3/2/19, with no way to save your email data.  We encourage you to follow instructions provided in our help page on how to copy/forward existing email data and set up a new account at att.net.

Do I need to return the WildBlue equipment?
Customers do not need to return their WildBlue modem or other equipment.

How was this change communicated?
Notification of the change to WildBlue Internet service will be sent to customer’s service address on file and DIRECTV account email, if available.

Why can't I access my Directv.net email accounts until March 1, 2019 like your notice indicates?

I've had WildBlue Internet service bundled with my Directv service for over a decade. I pay for the WildBlue internet service on my Directv bill each month. I received a notice in the mail notifying me that WildBlue Internet Service will be discontinued as of January 31, 2019.  The notice also indicates that I would still have access to my Directv.net email accounts until MARCH 1, 2019.

As of February 1, 2019, I cannot login to my email accounts.  I get the following message:  Your account is currently suspended. Please contact customer support at 1-800-551-4388. When I called this number, I reached a representative that was not helpful, but simply kept putting me on hold and coming back to tell me that I had to visit www.directv.com/wildblueinfo. This link also states that I would have access to my email accounts until March 1, 2019. The link also provides info on how to open a new AT&T email account, how to forward your Directv.net emails to another email address, or to export your contacts and/or calendar information.  This is all common sense, however  I still need access to the Directv.net email accounts in order to perform any of these functions.

You cannot mail a notice to customers indicating that they'll have access to their accounts until March 1, 2019 and then make the accounts inactive.  Please provide me with information on how to access my Directv.net email accounts.  I don't have time to sit on hold just to reach representatives that don't understand the problem, nor offer any solutions.
