Blocked Domain, Email or IP address Questions and Discussion

Hi, I'm the syadmin of an ESP.   For some reason most of our users with ATT email addresses are unable to receive emails from the system.  We've tried numerous times reporting the issue to ATT blocks, however the issue still exists and our users are getting frustrated.  Can you help please?   

 

This is the ATT error message from our email server.  We use Elastic Email as our Email service provider.  They believe you are blocking our domain for some reason, as they have already moved us to another ip. 

 

 

Here's an example of the error we are getting:

 

553 5.3.0 alph154 DNSBL:RBL 521<64.159.65.119 >_is_blocked.For information send an email to abuse_rbl@abuse-att.net

 

This affects most of the IPs in our netblock (64.159.65.0/24) but not all.  

 

 

We've reported this many times now and gotten no reply. It's been over a month.  We've gone through every remediation step listed here:

Website Blocked By ATT

I am a ATT Uverse Customer. I am also a web designer. 6 months ago I built a website for a customer {commercial link removed}. 2 months later the site was blocked by ATT. In speaking with your tech support people they found that it had been blackliste by from McAfee. I contacted McAfee and they retested and found the claim was false and cleared the sites name. ATT has not yet cleared the site and it does not load. The rest of the world sees the site without problem, only Uverse customers cannot see the site. I have spent over 2 hours with tech support and never have the same experience, was told that the report was sent to Level 2 support, person I just spoke to say there is no Level 2 and that I was lied to by ATT.. Ticket No. ‪

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET ATT TO CLEAR THIS DOMAIN SO I CAN WORK ON IT? OTHERWISE I WILL CHANGE ISP.. Thanks C Daigle

I don't have a link to test, so I can not verify an AT&T block, but if it was on a blacklist in the Mcafee program, it's quite possible that the record still exists on the computer. The online list on Mcafee's servers might be updated, but it's possible the block rule has not been removed from the local computers Mcafee program block list. It's also possible that there was an entry placed in your browser's "Restricted Sites" list.

 

If you'd like, you can send me the link to the site in a Private Message and I can test access from my end. I'm an AT&T customer, but I'm not on Uverse, just DSL.

I believe the issue involves your hosting service provider (Hostinger Limited) and/or the name servers (Lifesotech.com) they're/you're using for domain resolution.

 

 

OpenDNS says the domain name does not resolve and errors out to: Name: hit-nxdomain.opendns.com
Address: 67.215.65.132

 

I've found Hostinger, in any form (even the UK site), is totally unreachable by web, ping, tracert. If AT&T is blocking, it does not surprise me, as Hostinger is supposed to be (from what I've read) a conglomerate of several less than reputable, here today replaced tomorrow, $1 a month for unlimited everything, hosting companies. I had read that the president of the company actually used a photo of the president of HP, as his own, on his blog page.

 

Lifesotech's (your name servers) own lookup utilities use OpenDNS so it does not resolve there either.

 

The fact that the IP that does come up for your site, 31.170.160.77 shows as Hostinger, with Name Servers from a company that appears to be based in Malaysia, and the IP located in the RIPE database (Lithuania to be exact), just seems like an awful lot of middlemen and odd variables to be risking your clients web presence on.

 

Personally, I feel that if you want a stable, reputable, well policed hosting service, which is what is required for a business, then go with a hosting service backed by a major ISP (AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast all have business hosting services), or another major tech company like Yahoo or Google, and get a business web hosting account. Even IBM has hosting services now after the purchase of Softlayer. Yes, it will cost more than $3 a month, but you'll be on policed servers maintained by reputable companies. You wont have you site getting blocked because of another website that's selling porn or bootleg software or spamming that happens to be sharing the same IP as your site.

Can I have my websites unblocked, please?

Hello,

 

My personal and professional websites: raditudeforever.com and raditu.de are currently blocked while using AT&T Internet. I'm also unable to access my CPanel at nsfreehost.net

 

I am unable to access the sites while using AT&T at Starbucks, or on AT&T at a career fair in Richmond, CA.

 

I created the sites while I was living in Indiana, and using Comcast Internet. They were also accessible on my former college's ISP. I am able to access the sites while using Verizon mobile devices.

 

Having just moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, these websites are very important to me right now, as they contain my résumé, portfolio, and contact information for potential clients. If potential clients are using AT&T, they are unable to see this information, which most certainly means I will be losing business.

I have an issue with AT&T's service, and I've politely asked for a resolution, but it has been overlooked by the AT&T staff. Now I'm getting upset. If my issue isn't resolved or at the very least addressed in a timely manner, I will file a complaint with the FCC, and any other regulating agencies relevant to my problem.

I apologize for any confusion. There forums are a peer to peer community and while we're here to offer help or guidance when we can, AT&T's official presence is limited, especially on the weekends. Please see an original post in this thread for some information on how to request a block removal. In many cases a web host might be blocked and not an individual site, in those cases they have to contact AT&T directly to resolve.

ATT this is ridiculous. Your unblock form never sends a response. Your email response it automated to tell us you'll get back with us, and you never do. Our customers are having to call you individually to white-list us so they can get their emails. And no one at ATT is in customer service???? Not one person to address ALL of these people's email being blocked?

 

We have switched to sending via gmail, and we have told so far 105,000 customers about ATT and suggested they drop them as an ISP, including all the various .net versions.

 

As an ATT customer myself, I will cancel my services with you when I can.

 

You may not feel it, but if enough of us do SOMETHING maybe you'll dedicate at least one lackey to figure out what is going on with your service.

My web site blocked somewhere along the line !

Happy Father's Day to all Pops!

 

Spent 3 hours with ATT Chat yesterday and they could NOT help.  Wondering if I am doomed?

 

Starting a new business Marketing campaign NOW with a free web site which has been fine or 2 months now.

 

Fours days ago, I and ALL OTHER users on sbcglobal.net CANNOT reach the site anymore!  Users on other ISP's can still reach the site just fine.

 

Really a shame that no one seems to help, unless you sign up for some kind of PAID troubleshooting!

Hello dcavaiani2,

 

In most cases it's the hosting company that needs to contact AT&T for resolution, but we have some information for admins on top of this page too. A problem with free hosting services is that they use one IP address for many of their sites and as a result if one of those sites has security issues or causes other concerns, the IP address gets blocked and it affects many other users as well.

I submitted the forms for a client 2-3 business days ago.

I have not hear back from your support.

The client sends from their internal Exchange server - however, none of the SPAM blacklists in the world lists them.

Their reverse DNS lookup, SPF record, mail server name, etc all look fine. We had them send email to MultiRBL test sight, which analyzes the structure of the email, and it looks fine.

How can we move forward on resolving this blocking?

ATT is blocking our site

Hi,

 

I work for a graduate program and we are getting messages from perspective students who say ATT is blocking our site.  The apparently have ATT Internet service - other students are having no problems.  This has happened before - may be intermittent.  I am just beginning to process of trying to figure out how to proceed and would like advice about who to call first.  Our host?  ATT?

IP and Domain has been blacklisted

My domain has been blacklisted by AT&T.  I  have entered several requests via http://att.net/blocks  to have my IP removed from this list but have received not response.  We are currently unable to send email to any domain managed by AT&T, specifically bellsouth.net and att.net.  How can I get us removed from the list?  We aren't on any other blacklists.  I've also contacted 'abuse_rbl@abuse-att.net' for a status and help but have received no response from them either.
