Att.net email issue
I have various swbell.net and att.net email accounts. They generally work fine. However, with one of the att.net email accounts, email messages arrive on my iphone just fine, but it takes long periods of time (sometimes hours) before they are received on my computer. With the other email accounts, they are received on my iphone and computer at about the same time (the phone always receives them first). Any thoughts?

Hi @chilihedd!
Thanks for reaching back here! The delayed situation you explained can be as a result of many things. Emails travel across multiple servers the sender's email server, intermediate servers, and your server. Some servers might be overloaded with spam or with other tasks.
We suggest that you make sure that your computer software is up to date, clear your cookies and cache, then restart your system.
Hope this helps!

Hi @chilihedd,
The difference is in the protocol that is being used.
The smartphones uses the EAS protocol which uses the Direct Push method so new messages are delivered to the device as soon as they received in the mailbox.
The Exchange protocol connected via Cached Exchange Mode uses a Direct Push/Delayed Pull method. In this case, your conpoter is notified directly when the message arrives but waits 30 seconds before it actually syncs. Any additional server-side changes that occur within these 30 seconds are then directly synched as well.
Thank you for reaching out to AT&T's Community and Forums Team.

Thanks, but you missed my point. If I was experiencing a delay in seconds, it would be of no concern to me. however, i am describing a situation in which several email accounts have messages that arrive rather quickly, and one that is delayed by hours. What might be causing this?

Assuming you are using an email client app how is that problem account configured on your computer, IMAP or POP? How are the others configured? If the problem account is configured for POP what do you have it's polling rate set to, i.e, how often does it access the server to download new stuff.

How would this help when hours or more delays in emails downloading on a mobile phone? We use a Blackberry KeyOne, Cox email address on AT&T service.
