Att Email is locked out

I was locked out of my account after I put in my password wrong several times by mistake, while trying to access it.  Now I am locked out and unable to log back into my email.  I tried to reset the password but I was asked to answer security questions that I did not recognize and could not answer.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, @SmilesE.

If you remember the password already used, account locks due to multiple incorrect passwords usually only last one hour.

If you still need to reset the password, then you may be able to bypass the security questions by changing your AT&T Access ID password, if your email is linked to your account.

One of my sub accounts was working until yesterday, now I can't get Thunderbird email, when I enter AT&T online password and account it says, not found. When I try to change password "lost password" it says no account. Now I'm locked out as well and keep getting a message that says, use CHAT, but there is no chat?

Now I get this: Your account has been temporarily locked for security purposes.

The account information you attempted to enter does not match our records.

To continue with your password reset, please try again in 24 hours.
Select the "Questions? Chat Live" button to check for chat agent availability.

So virtually overnight my account goes from working to does not match records? Can I chat, can I phone, can I do something besides get sent in circles and locked out.

Thanks for any ideas, what happened and how to fix it.

866 722 3425 phone support got it done.
