ATT Mail Reset Password after Yahoo Unmerge - Please help!

My ATT email account is locked after several unsuccessful attempts at trying to reset my password.  I couldn't remember the answer to the 2 security questions in order to reset my password. Right now the only way I can get my ATT mail is through Yahoo by using my ATT login and password I used BEFORE the unmerging.

Oddly enough, I can login to my Yahoo account using my Yahoo ID and new password just fine.

I've spent the better part of this evening (hours and hours) trying to sort this out.  Can someone from support help me? I've used my ATT email account for years and never had so much trouble 😞

Hello @kellyjoann

With the un-merging from Yahoo there have been a few issues. As of now you can access your AT&T mail from www.att.net. Click on the mail icon and log in. Your password will be your old password before the un-merge happened. We highly recommend changing it for security purposes.

Thank you for your response Fred. I appreciate it 🙂

Yes I figured out that if I login https://login.yahoo.com/ using my Att.net login and old password it takes me to http://start.att.net.  I then click on the Mail icon on the top left portion of the page and it takes me to https://mail.yahoo.com/?.partner=sbc  where I can view my att.net mail.  This is a page powered by Yahoo right?  Will I be able to continue to access my att.net mail this way?

I was confused as I thought I would need to login to att.com in order to get my att.net mail due to the unmerging of the accounts.I couldn't remember if I had a ATT User ID associated with my att.net mail account.  As long as I don't need one in order to access my ATT mail I am good 🙂

You can continue to access your email by logging in at att.net and then click on the mail icon in the top corner.

This un-merge of accounts has been a disaster.  After the accounts were un-merged, I was able to access my email in Yahoo and my sbcglobal email at att.net respectively.  I set up my mobile IOS device to access email by configuring the att.net account.  After a couple of days of accessing my email, I started seeing errors that my details were inaccurate.  Trying several devices, browsers, etc without success; I finally reached out to Tech support.  They passed me over to digital assistance.  Over the past two weeks, I have spoken with several people from several different locations, (Digital Assistance, Landline, etc). and tried several different things to access my email.  Each attempt is a failure. I have been told "it is a known issue, wait 24 - 48 hours for resolution,  It has been a week and no email.  Technician has reset the password, technician stated your account is out of sync and re-synced it, you name it, we have tried it.

I can get the main home page att.net, review my account details, and the number of unread emails is showing in the upper right hand corner by the envelope.  The number showing in att.net home page is also the number of unread emails in my yahoo account.. go figure!  When I attempt to access email, I am directed to a login page, even though I am already logged into the att.net home page.  Entering my credentials and clicking enter, just performs a redirect back to the login page and that circle would continues as log as I keep trying.

Frustrating to say the least!  Of course this email account has job sites linked to it,  and jobs I have applied to. Not to mention, I have some billing departments using this account, all of which I cannot access.  Who knows what I am missing!!

And calling ATT is a disaster as I no longer have any ATT or uverse accounts.  The sbcglobal account should now be considered a free email account, but it is currently held hostage.
