I was using DSL service and was happy for years. Someone came out to upgrade to uverse. I didn't ask for the upgrade. Now my internet had worked for a week and we have spent over 8 hours trying to get it corrected.

Welcome to the underhanded tactics of AT&T. Last year while I was out on jury duty, AT&T installed U-Verse in my downstairs neighbor's apartment and (accidentally?) disconnected my apartment's DSL in the process. When I called to get my service restored, they said it would be a couple of days and that I might be charged for the repair. They also tried to push U-Verse on me. I was so offended that I canceled all of my AT&T services and closed my account. I will never purchase another AT&T product or service in my lifetime.
