I hadn't been receiving emails from Nextdoor.com. The agent said to put their email addresses in my safe sender list, but I couldn't find such a feature.

If you been receiving them in your inbox then they are not being treated as spam. There's nothing else to be done. There are no whitelists in att/yahoo email.
