Can't log in/need Uverse/ATT verification code via phone or email, not text

Good morning, there, good Samaritan. I want to receive my ATT/Uverse verification codes via phone call or email NOT TEXT (this was the case for years, until recently). Two questions: (1) How do I accomplish this? My log-in menu allows only the text option. (Reason for request: flip-phone capable of receiving texts is kept in car, far from dwelling); and (2) ATT/Uverse keeps asking for code even though I'm using same home PC to log in and have clicked no verification needed for this device since I'm the only one using it and in control of it. Thank you.

We're here to help, @rafaoba!

Email is no longer a supported option to receive the code for Trusted Sign-In locations. The only method available at this time is to receive a text message to the number you have registered as the contact number on your account.

As far as being asked to verify your identity after signing in on a device that you've used before, if you clear the browser cache and cookies, sign in with a different browser, a different ID or reset your password, then you'll be prompted to verify after attempting to sign in.

Thank you, John, for the prompt and informative response. I keep my cell in my car. Unfortunately, I will not be able to log in to my ATT account from my desktop as I've done routinely for over 5 years. I hope the phone call method makes a comeback. When it comes to verification, every reasonable option should be offered, including codes via phone call. Thank you.

I pay for two phones and business Internet but do not have access to the phones that receive the SMS codes.  How does one login without access to the services that I pay for?

No, AT&T I do not have access to the phones.  No, I do not have access to a Zenkey account.

Can AT&T move to the 21st century and support real-world 2FA/MFA solutions?

I did go to the store and they can not help you.  Can't contact AT&T support without logging in.  Catch 22.

Ah - OK

You have 2FA that relies on an SMS message to the device on your account.  That's freaking awesome...except...

My device is a Meraki MX64 with a SIM slot.  It is incapable of SMS.  I have no other AT&T device.  SO, how then to make this work?  Even your support people have to call other support people to get a temporary code.  We cannot spend 50 minutes on the phone every time we need to change something on the account.

I only have the one number which is assigned to an internet device that does not even have a screen.

I just built a MFA solution for the business I work for.  It uses SMS - or - an email code - or an offline code like an RSA Token to validate.  The age of the IOT (Internet of Things ) is upon us.  Surely AT&T can figure another way to validate 2FA when there is no SMS device available?

?????
