I saw a few workers installing a fiber line next to a school and that school is only 3 or 4 blocks away from me and still, Fiber isn't available in my area for some reason! I'm thinking of switching to an actually good service where my crappy DSL wifi doesn't shut off every 10 minutes.
ATT Fiber is the renamed Uverse Gigapower, happened in December 2016.
In home installation and repair is performed by Uverse Premise Techs (Uverse Wire Tech in the SE, Bell South areas).
These Uverse techs work ADSL2+, VDSL FTTN and FTTP (direct fiber)... All Uverse products including internet provided by 1 of these 3 transports., ATT Phone (voip) and Uverse IPTV. They do not work on POTS, legacy DSL which is serviced by core lineman.Fixed Wireless is handled by DirecTv contractor. And hotspot for cellular service has no inhome tech.
