Pre-pay for service
We have our credit frozen because we protect from identity theft. It is a complicated process to unfreeze and we are certainly not going to do that just to change internet service. We tried to sign up with AT&T and offered to pre-pay a full year but were told that there was no way to get service without unfreezing credit. Who can we talk to that won’t send us to talk to someone in the Philippines about this. Is it a normal business practice to turn down full up-front payment? Doesn’t that seem strange to turn down a customer who has cash in hand? Anyway we are staying with spectrum for now but if anyone knows who we can call to pre-pay let us know. Seems strange to even have to ask this. Odd business practice and would think better of AT&T frankly.

Hi, @Dinodg.
We are happy to hear that you are interested in joining the AT&T family. We understand that you have questions regarding the credit check requirements.
There are times when you are not able to submit a credit check, you will be listed as having unknown credit. Depending on the service you're signing up for a Credit Management Fee Advanced Payment is required to obtain services.
You will find more helpful information within a forums post about our Credit Check Policy. For your question, skip down to the section titled, 'Unable to Submit to Credit Check'. Within that section you will see the information above and more. Let us know if this information is helpful to you.
