AT&T Fiber is supposed to be available at our address but it's not?

According to the address lookup on the AT&T Fiber website, Fiber should be available at our house. A year ago, when we moved into this house, a tech came to our house to set it up and said Fiber was on the street corner but didn't reach our house. He said they would have to dig up our neighbor's yard to get Fiber to our house. Obviously we didn't want our neighbor's to do that so we left it be. We got Comcast instead and they have been an absolute nightmare to deal with so we are trying to find another option. Our address still shows up as available for AT&T fiber. Should we try again? Is it possible the first tech was wrong?
