What is AT&T Fiber Internet?

Does ATT need to run an optical cable line to our house?  Do they need access to the cable box?

Does the optical cable use the same coaxial cable as the DSL or separate?

We currently have cable DSL, not sure what we need to do to get ready for ATT fiber internet.

Thanks.

Yes, an AT&T technician will install a fiber line from the street to your house.

The only use AT&T has for coaxial cable these days is to shoot IPTV on it. I always use it as a last resort on my installs. Ethernet first, wireless second, coax last. There are exceptions of course, like if a TV will go outside in a gazebo and there is only coax. In that case I would use it as the wireless box would have a hard time getting good signal outside of the main house.

You don't really need to do anything. The tech will talk to you before he starts working and get your input on where the fiber should be ran, etc.
